What’s new on Messenger?

A “Vanish- mode” has been added to Messenger for ephemeral or private discussion after WhatsApp. You can now swipe up to turn on the “vanish mode” and then swipe down to turn it off. You can set up a time limit to control by what time you want your text to erase after you leave the chatbox.

Vanish Mode and its settings are as follow:

  • Only people you’re connected to can use “vanish mode” with you.
  • Vanish mode is optional, thus, you can choose whether to enter “vanish mode” with someone or not.
  • If you or the other person takes a screenshot of the chat while the “vanish mode” is on, both will be notified.
  • You can always block someone and report a conversation if you feel unsafe.

Yes! You may say it is quite like Snapchat messaging within Messenger.  This update is available only in the US and a few more countries around the world. Keep checking for the latest update on your app store to enjoy the new “vanish mode” on your devices.
